Follow the signs towards Þjórsárdalur and keep an eye out for the sign for Ljótipollur. The road can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Park at the designated parking area near the lake and follow the walking path that leads to the viewpoint.

Hiking

For those who prefer hiking, you can start your journey from Landmannalaugar by taking the marked hiking trail that leads towards Ljótipollur. The hike is approximately 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) one way and will take around 2 hours. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, so make sure to have your camera ready. Follow the trail markers, and upon reaching Ljótipollur, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the unique colors of the lake.

Public Transportation
