If you're driving, start on the Laugavegur Trail and head towards Þingvellir National Park. Follow the signs for Route 36. After about 45 kilometers, turn right onto Route 365. Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 30. Turn left onto Route 30, and after about 10 kilometers, you'll see signs for Hjálparfoss. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at Hjálparfoss after a short drive.

To reach Hjálparfoss via public transport, take a bus from Reykjavik to Selfoss. From Selfoss, transfer to a bus heading towards Þingvellir National Park.
