Public Transportation
To reach Sigoldufoss using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavik to Hella (approximately 1.5 hours). Once in Hella, transfer to a bus heading towards Þjórsárdalur. Be sure to check the schedule as the buses may not run frequently. Always check local bus schedules and routes in advance as they can vary seasonally.
Hiking
If you are already hiking the Laugavegur Trail, take the route towards Þjórsárdalur. From the last campsite, follow the marked paths towards the valley. The trail will lead you through beautiful landscapes, and you will eventually connect with Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri. From there, it's about a 3-kilometer hike to Sigoldufoss.
