If you're driving, head towards the Laugavegur Trail starting point. From Reykjavik, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Hella. After Hella, take Route 26 towards Landmannalaugar. Once you reach Landmannalaugar, follow the signs for the Laugavegur Trail. After completing the trail, continue to drive towards Emstruleið. Use GPS coordinates 63.80603, -19.2797832 for direct navigation to Innri–Emstruá. Parking may be limited, so arrive early if possible.

Public Transportation
To reach Innri–Emstruá via public transport, start by taking a bus from Reykjavik to Landmannalaugar. Buses are operated by several companies, including Sterna and Reykjavik Excursions. Check the schedules for the bus that fits your itinerary. After arriving at Landmannalaugar, you can hike the Laugavegur Trail. Once you reach the end of the trail, you can either hike back to Landmannalaugar or arrange for a pickup service that can take you directly to Emstruleið. Ensure you have the correct bus times and possibly reserve your seats in advance.

If you are already on the Laugavegur Trail, continue hiking until you reach the end of the trail. From there, you will be near Emstruleið. Follow the marked paths leading to the coordinates 63.80603, -19.2797832 which will guide you to Innri–Emstruá. The walk offers stunning views and is well worth the effort. Be sure to carry enough water and snacks for the hike.
