Car
If you are traveling by car, head southeast on Road 1 (the Ring Road) from Akureyri or north from Egilsstaðir. Follow Road 1 until you reach the junction with Road 848, turn onto Road 848 and follow the signs to Mývatn. Once in the Mývatn area, keep an eye out for signs to Hofdi. The exact location is near Skútustaðir, at the coordinates 65.5789, -16.9560. There is a small parking area available for visitors.
