If you're traveling by car, head to Ásbyrgi, which is located in the northeastern part of Iceland. From Akureyri, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) eastbound for about 80 km until you reach Route 862. Turn left onto Route 862 and follow the signs for Ásbyrgi. The drive will take approximately 1.5 hours. Upon reaching Ásbyrgi, look for the coordinates XFXP+CH7, which will direct you to Botnstjörn. There’s ample parking available near the scenic spot.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Akureyri to Ásbyrgi. Check the schedules on the Strætó website for the most current routes and times. The journey will take around 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Ásbyrgi bus stop, you can either walk to Botnstjörn, which is approximately a 20-minute walk (about 1.5 km), or arrange for a taxi if you prefer not to walk. Ensure to confirm the taxi availability in advance, as it may not be frequent.
