If you're driving, head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) from Akureyri. Continue for approximately 90 kilometers until you reach the town of Egilsstaðir. From Egilsstaðir, follow Route 93 south for about 30 kilometers. You will see signs for Selfoss, a beautiful waterfall located on the east side of the river. Turn onto the gravel road leading to the waterfall, and park in the designated area. You'll find that the view of the waterfall is spectacular from this side.
