Car
If you are driving in the Northeastern Region, start from Akureyri. Head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Egilsstaðir. Continue for approximately 45 km until you reach the junction with Route 84. Turn left onto Route 84 towards Þórshöfn. After about 40 km, turn right onto a gravel road (this is the road leading to Hrafnabjargafoss). Follow the gravel road for about 10 km until you see signs for Hrafnabjargafoss. The waterfall will be on your left.
Public Transportation
To reach Hrafnabjargafoss using public transportation, take a bus from Akureyri to Egilsstaðir (check the schedules with Strætó). From Egilsstaðir, you will need to take a taxi or arrange a local tour that includes Hrafnabjargafoss in its itinerary, as public transportation does not go directly to the waterfall. Be aware that taxi services may have additional costs, and it’s recommended to confirm the fare before you start your journey.
