If you are driving from Akureyri (the largest city in the Northeastern Region), take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 150 kilometers (about 1.5 hours). When you reach the town of Egilsstaðir, continue on Route 1 for another 60 kilometers (about 45 minutes) until you reach the junction for Route 93. Turn left onto Route 93 and drive about 14 kilometers (approximately 10 minutes) until you reach Garðhur, where Lón is located.
