If you're traveling by car, head to Barnafoss which is located near the town of Borgarnes in the Northwestern Region. From Borgarnes, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading northwest. After approximately 40 km, take the exit toward Route 50. Continue on Route 50 for about 20 km until you reach the junction with Route 518. Turn left onto Route 518, and after about 10 km, you'll arrive at Barnafoss. There is a parking area available near the waterfall, and parking is generally free.

To reach Barnafoss using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Borgarnes to Reykholt. Bus services are available through Strætó, Iceland's public transport system. Once in Reykholt, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare to take you the remaining 15 km to Barnafoss, as public transport does not go directly to the site. Taxi fares may vary, but expect to pay around 2,500 to 4,000 ISK for the ride.
