Getting There

Public Bus

From the city center (Hlemmur bus station), take bus route 1 towards 'Kópavogur'. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Kópavogur' stop. From there, walk about 15 minutes to Heiðmörk. Head southwest on Kópavogur road, then take a left onto the path leading into the forest area. Follow the signs to Heiðmörk.
Walking

If you are near the city center and prefer walking, start at Hallgrímskirkja church. Head south on Skólavörðustígur, turn right onto Laugavegur, and continue until you reach the bus terminal at Hlemmur. From there, take bus route 1 to Kópavogur, as described above.
Taxi

You can also take a taxi directly from anywhere in Reykjavik to Heiðmörk. Just tell the driver to take you to 'Heiðmörk in Kópavogur'. The ride will take about 20 minutes depending on traffic.
