If you are starting from the center of Reykjavík, head towards the Harpa Concert Hall located on Austurbakki 2. From there, continue along the waterfront promenade called 'Austurstræti' northwards for about 1 km until you reach the iconic Sun Voyager sculpture. Keep walking past the Sun Voyager and you will find yourself at the edge of Tjörnin pond. Continue walking along the pond until you reach the intersection with Lækjargata Street. Turn right onto Lækjargata and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Bankastræti. Turn left onto Bankastræti, and continue until you reach the end of the street. You will see a path leading up to Arnarhóll hill where Ingólfur Arnarson stands proudly. The location is marked as 43X8+4QC, Arnarhóll, 101 Reykjavík.

From your starting point in Reykjavík, make your way to the nearest bus stop. Take Bus Route 1 towards 'Hlemmur'. After about 5 stops, disembark at 'Hlemmur' bus terminal. Once you exit the bus, walk down Lækjargata Street towards the pond. From there, you can either walk directly to the location by following the previously mentioned walking directions or take Bus Route 8 from 'Hlemmur' towards 'N1' and get off at the 'Arnarhóll' stop, which is very close to the Ingólfur Arnarson statue.
