Public Bus
From Reykjavik city center, head to the main bus terminal, Hlemmur. You can catch bus number 51 towards Hvalfjörður. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Get off at the Selatangar stop, which is the closest stop to Selatangar. From the bus stop, walk about 15 minutes southeast along a dirt path leading directly to the historical landmark.
Walking
If you are near the coast in Reykjavik, you can also walk to Selatangar. Start from the Harpa Concert Hall, head east along the waterfront until you reach the bridge over the river. Continue along the coast on the path towards the southwest. This is a longer walk, approximately 1.5 hours, but you can enjoy beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding landscapes.
Bicycle Rental
Biking is a great way to explore Reykjavik. Rent a bike from one of the local shops in the city center. Follow the coastal path towards the southeast, which will take you along the shore. It’s about 8 km to Selatangar, so ensure you have a map or GPS to guide you. Once you approach the area, park your bike and walk the final stretch to the landmark.
