From the center of Saudarkrokur, start at the local bus station. Head south on Gilsbakki street towards Iceland 7. Turn left onto Iceland 7, and continue walking for approximately 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Ytri Tunga, which is known for its scenic views and wildlife. The destination is located on the west side of the road, and you will see the parking area where visitors usually gather. The walk will take around 1 hour depending on your pace.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Saudarkrokur. Start at the bike rental shop and head south on Gilsbakki street. After a short distance, turn left onto Iceland 7. Continue biking for approximately 5 kilometers. The route is relatively flat and should take about 15-20 minutes.
