    Walking

    From the center of Selfoss, start at the Selfoss bus station located on Þjóðvegur 1. Exit the station and head south on Þjóðvegur 1 towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Hringbraut. Continue on Hringbraut for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork onto Reykjakot road. Follow Reykjakot for approximately 7 kilometers. You will see signs for Reykjaströnd and the Reykadalur Hot Spring Thermal River. The trailhead for the hot springs will be on your left. It is about a 30-minute walk from the trailhead to the hot springs.

    Biking

    Rent a bike from a local shop in Selfoss. Start your journey from the Selfoss town center and head towards Þjóðvegur 1. Follow the same route as walking – take Hringbraut and then turn onto Reykjakot road. The bike ride will take approximately 25-30 minutes to reach the trailhead. Once at the trailhead, lock your bike and begin your hike towards Reykjadalur Hot Spring Thermal River, which is about a 30-minute hike from the trailhead.

    Public Transport

    Check the local bus schedule for buses heading towards Hveragerði. Board the bus at the Selfoss bus station. The bus ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Hveragerði stop. From there, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or look for local taxis to take you to the Reykadalur trailhead. If walking, head towards the Reykadalur valley following the signs, and you will reach the hot springs after a 30-minute hike from the trailhead.
