Bus
From the center of Hafnarfjörður, head to the Hafnarfjörður Bus Station located at Aðalgata 20. Take Bus number 1 towards Reykjavík. Ride for about 20 minutes and get off at the stop 'Höfuðborgarsvæðið'. Transfer to Bus number 51 towards 'Hveragerði' and continue for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at 'Hellisheiði' bus stop. The Geothermal Exhibition is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Head northeast on the main road (Route 1) until you see the entrance to Hellisheiðarvirkjun on your left.

Walking
If you are staying in the central area of Hafnarfjörður, you can walk to the nearby bus station and then follow the bus instructions. Alternatively, if you prefer walking, it is a long trek of about 16 kilometers to the Hellisheiðarvirkjun. Start by heading north on Aðalgata Street, then turn left onto Hvaleyrarvegur. Follow Hvaleyrarvegur until it merges into Route 1. Continue along Route 1 heading southeast, and you will arrive at the Geothermal Exhibition after several hours of walking.
