Car
If you are driving from the Skaftafell Visitor Centre, start by heading southwest on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for about 500 meters. Look for the sign for 'Fossálar' on your right and turn onto the gravel road. Follow the road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the parking area for the Fossálar Waterfall. The waterfall is a short 10-minute walk from the parking area.

Public Transportation
From Skaftafell, take a local bus heading towards Höfn. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the 'Fossálar' stop. This bus service runs a few times a day, so check the schedule in advance. After disembarking, you will need to walk approximately 1.2 kilometers along the gravel path to reach the waterfall. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear as the path can be uneven.

Hiking
If you are already in the Skaftafell National Park and prefer hiking, take the trail starting from the Skaftafell Visitor Centre. Head towards the Svartifoss trail, but instead of going directly to Svartifoss, look for the signs leading to Fossálar. This hike is roughly 2 kilometers one way and should take about 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace. The trail is well-marked, but ensure you are prepared for changing weather conditions.
