From the Skaftafell Visitor Center, begin your journey by following the well-marked hiking trail towards Svartifoss. The trailhead is located just behind the Visitor Center. The path is clear and easy to navigate, with signs directing you along the way. The hike is approximately 1.5 kilometers (about 1 mile) one way and typically takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your pace. The trail is moderately steep in places, so wear comfortable walking shoes.

If you are driving, park your vehicle at the Skaftafell Visitor Center parking lot. There is a parking fee of 1,000 ISK per vehicle for the day. After parking, follow the same trail indicated above that leads to Svartifoss. Note that the parking area can fill up quickly during peak tourist seasons, so arriving early is recommended.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus to the Skaftafell bus stop, which is accessible from major towns like Reykjavik or Höfn.
