Car
If you are traveling by car from anywhere in the Snæfellsbær Area, head east on Route 54 towards Akranes. After approximately 25 kilometers, you will reach a roundabout. Take the first exit onto Route 1. Continue straight for about 3 kilometers, and then take a left onto Garðaholt Road. The Akranes Folk Museum will be on your right at Garðaholt 3, 300 Akranes. There is parking available at the museum.
Public Transportation
To reach Akranes Folk Museum using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Snæfellsbær to Akranes. You can catch the bus at the nearest bus stop to your location (check local bus schedules for exact stops). The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Akranes, walk towards Garðaholt by heading towards Route 1. The museum is located at Garðaholt 3, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus station. Ensure to check the return bus schedule back to Snæfellsbær.
