Car
From Reykjavik, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After about 50 km, take a left onto Route 37 towards Þingvellir National Park. Continue on Route 37 for approximately 20 km until you reach the intersection with Route 365. Turn left onto Route 365 and drive for about 20 km. Then, turn right onto Route 32 and follow it for about 10 km. Finally, look for the signs indicating Brúarfoss and turn onto the gravel road leading to the waterfall. Note that the last part of the road may be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.
Public Transportation
From Reykjavik, take the bus to Geysir or Gullfoss, which is operated by Strætó or other private bus companies. Once you arrive at Geysir or Gullfoss, you will need to arrange for a taxi or shuttle service to take you to Brúarfoss, as there is no direct public transport. It's advisable to pre-book a taxi or check for local shuttle services that may offer routes to Brúarfoss. Be prepared for possible additional costs for this taxi service, as it may vary depending on the distance.
Walking
Once you reach the parking area for Brúarfoss, follow the marked trail which will take you through a scenic landscape to the waterfall. The walk is approximately 1 km one way and may take about 20-30 minutes. Ensure that you wear sturdy shoes, as the path can be uneven and may be muddy in places.
