Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Vik. Drive along Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After about 10 minutes, you will see the turn-off for Hálsanefshellir Cave on your right, just before reaching the black sand beaches of Reynisfjara. There is a small parking area available. Please note that there are no fees for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Hálsanefshellir Cave using public transportation, you can take a bus from Reykjavik to Vik. The bus service is operated by Strætó. Once you arrive in Vik, you will need to walk approximately 2.5 km (about 30 minutes) from the bus terminal to the cave. Follow the signs towards Reynisfjara beach; the cave is located just a short distance from the beach. Please check the Strætó timetable for bus schedules and fares, as the prices may vary depending on the season.
