If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the town of Selfoss. Head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Hella. Continue on Route 1 for about 40 km until you reach the junction with Route 30. Take the exit for Route 30 towards Þykkvibær. After approximately 10 km, take a left onto Route 31. Follow this road until you reach Hólmsárfossar, which is located near the small village of Flúðir. The total driving distance is about 60 km and should take around 1 hour.

To reach Hólmsárfossar using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavik to Hella. You can find bus services operated by Strætó, which offer daily trips.
