Car
If you are driving from the popular tourist town of Vik, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After approximately 40 km, turn left onto Route 208 towards Þjórsárdalur Valley. Follow Route 208 for about 20 km, then take a right onto the F road (F210) which leads to Eldgjá Canyon and Ófærufoss. Note that F roads are gravel and require a 4x4 vehicle. Continue on this road for about 15 km until you reach the Ófærufoss parking area where you can park your car. The hike to the waterfall is about 2 km and moderate in difficulty.
