If you are driving, start by getting onto Route 1 (Þjóðvegur 1), the main highway in Iceland. From Reykjavík, it's about a 45-minute drive to Selfoss. Once you reach Selfoss, take the exit onto Route 35 (Þingvallavegur) just before the town. Follow Route 35 for about 3 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Þjóðveldisbærinn, which is located at the address 'Þjóðveldisbærinn, 804 Selfoss'. The farm will be on your right. There is free parking available on-site.

If you prefer public transport, you can take a bus from Reykjavík to Selfoss. The bus company Strætó operates routes from Reykjavík to Selfoss, with buses departing frequently throughout the day. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Selfoss bus station, you will have to walk approximately 2.5 kilometers to reach The Commonwealth farm. Head southeast on Þjóðvegur 1, and then turn onto Route 35. Follow the signs to Þjóðveldisbærinn. Alternatively, you can check if local taxi services are available at the bus station, which may incur additional costs.
