Start at the center of Vík, near the famous Vík í Mýrdal Church. From the church, head southeast on Víkurbraut road. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers. Kötlusetur - Katla visitor centre will be on your right side, just before you reach the junction with the main road leading out of Vík.
