Car
From the center of Vík í Mýrdal, head southeast on Route 1 (the Ring Road). After approximately 4 kilometers, take the exit towards Reynisfjara beach. Follow the signs for the beach and continue on that road. After about 2 kilometers, you will see an unpaved road on your left. Turn onto this road, which will lead you to Reynisfjall Old Barracks. Keep an eye out for the coordinates CX37+G48, which is the exact location. The drive will take about 10 minutes.

Public Transportation
Take a local bus service from Vík í Mýrdal to Reynisfjara beach. Buses typically leave from the main bus station in Vík. Once you arrive at Reynisfjara, you can walk towards the barracks, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the walking path toward the coastline, and you will eventually see the barracks on your left. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited, especially on weekends.

If you're already in Vík í Mýrdal and prefer to walk, start from the main square in Vík. Head east along the coast on the walking path that leads towards Reynisfjara beach. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the beach. From there, continue along the beach path until you see the unpaved road leading toward Reynisfjall. The total walking distance is approximately 3 kilometers and will take around 35-45 minutes.
