If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Reykjavik. Head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) and continue for approximately 45 km. Take the exit toward Route 36 (Þingvallavegur) and follow the signs for Þingvellir National Park. Drive for another 15 km on Route 36 until you reach the entrance of the park. Once inside, follow the road until you see the signs for Langistígur, which is located at the coordinates 64.271174, -21.10962.
Public Transportation
To reach Langistígur via public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavik to Þingvellir National Park. The bus service is operated by Strætó (Bus #5), which departs from the BSI bus terminal. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Þingvellir National Park. After disembarking, you will need to walk approximately 2 km towards Langistígur, following the signs within the park. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance to ensure you don't miss your return trip.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct option, you can take a taxi from Reykjavik to Langistígur. This option is more expensive, with fares ranging from ISK 15,000 to ISK 20,000, depending on traffic and time of day. The taxi will take you directly to the coordinates 64.271174, -21.10962, making it a convenient option if you are traveling in a group or with luggage.
