Car
If you're in Ísafjörður, head south on Route 60 towards Þingeyri. After about 45 km, turn left onto Route 61 towards Suðureyri. Continue on Route 61 for another 15 km until you reach the junction with Route 63. Turn left onto Route 63 and drive for approximately 30 km. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Route 60 again, heading towards Sauðlauksdalur. After about 20 km, keep an eye out for the sign for Skápadalur. You will find the site at 'G587+M7P, 451 Sauðlauksdalur'.
Public Transportation
From Ísafjörður, you can take a bus operated by Strætó, heading towards Þingeyri. Check the schedule for the latest times. Once you reach Þingeyri, transfer to a local bus that goes to Suðureyri. From there, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare to reach Skápadalur, as public transport to this specific area may not be available. Make sure to check with the local bus service for the latest routes and schedules.

If you're in the nearby town of Suðureyri, you can easily book a taxi to take you to Skápadalur. The ride will take approximately 20 minutes. The fare might range from 4,000 to 6,000 ISK depending on the taxi company and time of day. It's advisable to book the taxi in advance during peak tourist seasons.
