Car

If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Ísafjörður, which is a central hub in the Westfjords. From Ísafjörður, take Route 61 heading south. After approximately 25 kilometers, you will reach the junction to Route 63. Turn right onto Route 63 and continue for about 35 kilometers until you reach the town of Suðureyri. From Suðureyri, continue on Route 63, which will lead you to the road towards Djúpavík. Follow the signs and navigate the scenic dirt road for around 15 kilometers until you arrive at Djúpavík. Be prepared for some rough patches on the dirt road, and ensure your vehicle is suitable for such terrain.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Ísafjörður to Flateyri. Once in Flateyri, you will need to arrange for a taxi or a local shuttle service to Djúpavík, as direct public transport options may be limited. It's advisable to check the local bus schedules in advance, as services may not run frequently, especially in off-peak seasons. The taxi ride from Flateyri to Djúpavík will take approximately 30 minutes and may cost around 6000-9000 ISK depending on the service provider.
