From the main Þingvellir National Park entrance, take the Route 36 south towards Laugarvatn. Drive for approximately 3 km until you reach the Grafningsvegur road. Turn left onto Grafningsvegur and continue driving for about 1.5 km. Look for a small parking area on your right; park your car here. From the parking area, Hestvík is a short walk to the south along the path that leads to the water.

Public Transportation
Take a bus from Reykjavík to Þingvellir National Park. Buses typically leave from the BSI Bus Terminal. Once you arrive in Þingvellir, you will need to walk towards the main park entrance. From there, follow the same directions as if you were driving: head south on Route 36 for about 3 km, then turn left onto Grafningsvegur. Since public transportation may not take you directly to Hestvík, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 km along Grafningsvegur to reach the small parking area and then walk further south to the location of Hestvík.
