Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car within Þingvellir National Park, head towards the main road that runs through the park. Look for signs directing you to the Þingvellir Visitor Center. Once you reach the Visitor Center, continue driving along the road until you see the signs for the Viewpoint. The Viewpoint is located approximately 2 kilometers from the Visitor Center, accessible via a well-marked trail. Parking is available near the Viewpoint, but please be mindful of parking regulations.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, check if there are bus services that operate to Þingvellir National Park from Reykjavik. Upon arrival at the park, you will need to walk to the Visitor Center, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. From the Visitor Center, follow the well-marked trail signs to the Viewpoint, which is approximately 2 kilometers away. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance for return times, as services may be limited.

• Walking

  For those already in the park and interested in walking, head towards the Visitor Center first if you haven't already. From the Visitor Center, follow the designated walking path that leads to the Viewpoint. The trail is well-maintained and provides a scenic route through the park's stunning landscapes. It should take about 30-40 minutes to walk the 2 kilometers to the Viewpoint, where you can enjoy breathtaking views over Þingvellir National Park.
