If you are already in Þórsmörk, head towards the main road leading out of the nature reserve. You will be following Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Hvolsvöllur. After about 30 kilometers, turn left onto Route 26 towards Þórsmörk. Follow the road until you reach the marked parking area for Básar. The drive should take approximately 45 minutes, depending on road conditions.

For those relying on public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavík to Hvolsvöllur, which operates frequently throughout the day. Upon arrival in Hvolsvöllur, transfer to a local bus heading to Þórsmörk. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance as they can vary seasonally. Once you arrive at the Þórsmörk bus terminal, you can either hike or take a shuttle service to Básar, which is about a 5 km walk from the terminal.
