From Hvolsvöllur, turn onto Route 261 which leads you to the Thórsmörk area. Note that the last part of the drive involves crossing rivers, so a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended for this section. Be prepared for a few river crossings and ensure your vehicle can handle rough terrain.
