Start your journey from downtown Coeur d'Alene. Head to the nearest public bus stop and catch the Kootenai County Public Transportation bus heading towards the 'North Idaho College' route. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the most current times. Get off at the stop near 'North Idaho College'. From there, you will need to walk to the intersection of N 4th St and E Garden Ave. Once you reach E Garden Ave, head east until you reach the intersection with N 15th St. Take a left onto N 15th St and continue until you reach the junction with ID-97. Here, you will find a marked trailhead for the Mineral Ridge Scenic Area.

Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local shops in downtown Coeur d'Alene. From the city center, take Coeur d'Alene Riverwalk towards the east, which will lead you to the scenic bike paths along the river. Continue on the bike path until you reach the intersection with ID-97. Follow ID-97 north. The total biking distance is approximately 8 miles, and you should enjoy beautiful views of the lake and surrounding nature as you ride.

For those who enjoy walking, start from the city center and head toward the waterfront. Follow the scenic Riverwalk Trail along the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene. This route is approximately 8 miles and offers a beautiful walk through the natural scenery. Once you reach the junction with ID-97, continue walking north until you arrive at the Mineral Ridge Scenic Area. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the trail can be steep in some sections.
