Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, you can reach the Sawtooth National Forest from various points within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Start by heading southeast on ID-75 from Stanley, ID. Continue for approximately 40 miles until you reach Jerome, ID. Once in Jerome, take the exit onto I-84 E toward Twin Falls. After about 3 miles, take exit 168 toward ID-25/Jerome. Follow the signs for ID-25 N and continue on American Ave. You will find the Sawtooth National Forest office at 370 American Ave, Jerome, ID 83338. Parking is available on-site. Note that there may be a small parking fee depending on the area you choose to visit.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Boise to Twin Falls using the Idaho Transportation Department’s bus service. From Twin Falls, you will need to arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to reach Jerome, ID (around 20 miles away). Once in Jerome, you can visit the Sawtooth National Forest office at 370 American Ave. For bus schedules and fares, check the Idaho Transportation Department's website. Expect to pay a fare of around $30 for the bus from Boise to Twin Falls, and additional costs for taxi services.
