Public Transit - Bus
To reach the Boise River from downtown Nampa, head to the Nampa Transit Center located at 1st Street South and 12th Avenue South. Catch the ValleyRide bus number 72 or 73 heading towards Boise. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the Boise River stop, which will be near the intersection of Main Street and 8th Street in Boise. From there, it's a short walk to the river. Follow Main Street east until you see the riverbank, where you can enjoy the scenic views.
Walking
If you are near downtown Nampa, the Boise River is approximately a 1.5-mile walk. Start at the Nampa City Hall located at 411 3rd Street South. Head east on 3rd Street, then take a left onto 12th Avenue South. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 1st Street South. Turn right onto 1st Street and follow it to its end, where you will see the river. This route will take around 30 minutes, and you can enjoy the local shops along the way.
Bicycle Rental
For a more enjoyable trip, consider renting a bicycle from a local shop such as Nampa Bike Shop located at 208 11th Avenue South. After renting a bike, head east on 11th Avenue South, then turn left onto 3rd Street. Follow 3rd Street until you reach 12th Avenue South, then continue straight until you arrive at the Boise River. The ride is about 1.5 miles and should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.
