From Sawtooth, head east on ID-75 towards Stanley. Continue on ID-75 for approximately 54 miles until you reach the junction with US-93. Turn left onto US-93 N and follow it for about 13 miles. Then, take the exit onto ID-12 W towards Kooskia. Continue on ID-12 W for about 42 miles until you reach Kooskia, ID 83530. The Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness is located near Kooskia, and you can find various access points into the wilderness from this area.

Take a shuttle or bus service from Sawtooth to Kamiah, which is the closest town to the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. From Kamiah, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to Kooskia, as public transportation options are limited. Once in Kooskia, you can access the wilderness area.
