Getting There

• Car

  From Sawtooth National Recreation Area, start by heading east on ID-75 towards the town of Stanley. Continue on ID-75 for about 30 miles until you reach the junction with ID-33. Turn left onto ID-33 and follow it for approximately 50 miles. You will pass through beautiful landscapes, including the Teton Valley. Continue until you reach the Teton Scenic Byway at 6535 ID-33, Tetonia, ID 83452. This route offers stunning views along the way, so make sure to stop at any scenic overlooks.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer to use public transportation, start by taking a bus from Sawtooth to the nearest major town with a bus service, such as Idaho Falls. Check the local bus schedule for any connections to destinations near Tetonia. Once you arrive in Idaho Falls, you will likely need to catch a shuttle or another bus service that heads towards Teton Valley. Make sure to confirm the schedules ahead of time as they can vary. From Tetonia, you can walk or use a taxi service to reach the Teton Scenic Byway, located at 6535 ID-33.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, consider cycling to the Teton Scenic Byway. Starting from Sawtooth, take ID-75 east towards Stanley. After reaching ID-33, turn left and continue cycling along this scenic route. The total distance is about 80 miles, so be prepared for a long ride with plenty of stops along the way to enjoy the views. Make sure to check the weather and carry enough supplies, as there may not be many services available along the route.
