Public Transportation
From Arlington Heights, head to the Arlington Heights Metra Station located at 45 W Northwest Hwy. You can take the Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago. The journey to the Ogilvie Transportation Center in downtown Chicago takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Ogilvie, follow the signs to the 'Union Station' area and transfer to the 'Pink Line' or 'Blue Line' train towards 'Damen' or 'O'Hare'. Get off at the 'Washington/Wells' stop. From there, walk east towards the Chicago River, then continue walking east until you reach Michigan Avenue. Turn left on Michigan Avenue and walk north until you reach Navy Pier, where the Centennial Wheel is located.
Bus
From Arlington Heights, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the Pace Route 696 bus towards the 'Schaumburg Metra Station'. After approximately 30 minutes, transfer at the Schaumburg Metra Station to the Pace Route 607 bus towards 'Rolling Meadows'. After about 20 minutes, get off at the 'Rolling Meadows Metra Station'. From there, catch the Metra train towards Chicago. Once you arrive at Union Station, transfer to the 'Pink Line' or 'Blue Line' train towards 'Damen' or 'O'Hare'. Get off at 'Washington/Wells' and walk east towards Michigan Avenue, then north to Navy Pier where the Centennial Wheel is located.
Walking
If you are already in downtown Arlington Heights, you can make your way to the nearest bus stop to take the Pace bus towards Chicago. Follow the previous bus instructions from the bus stop to reach Navy Pier. Alternatively, if you prefer walking, you could walk to the Arlington Heights Metra Station and follow the train instructions provided.
