From Arlington Heights, walk to the Arlington Heights Metra Station located at 45 W Northwest Hwy. Take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Ogilvie Transportation Center, exit the station and head towards the Canal Street exit. Walk to the Canal Street bus stop and take the #12 bus towards 'Michigan & 21st'. After about 15 minutes, get off at the 'Michigan & 21st' stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk south down S Michigan Ave to reach Chess Records at 2120 S Michigan Ave.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, once you are in downtown Arlington Heights, navigate to the Arlington Heights Metra Station. From there, board the Metra train to Chicago. After arriving at Ogilvie Transportation Center, follow the directions above to take the #12 bus or simply walk. If walking from Ogilvie, exit the station and head southeast towards W Washington Blvd, continue straight to S Wells St, then turn left onto S Wells St. Continue south until you reach W 21st St, turn right and walk to S Michigan Ave. Chess Records will be on your left.
Bicycle
For those who wish to cycle, start in Arlington Heights and head south on S Arlington Heights Rd. Continue to follow this road as it transitions into W Rand Rd. After about 4 miles, turn left onto S Michigan Ave. Continue straight for about 10 miles. Chess Records will be on your right at 2120 S Michigan Ave. Please remember to obey local traffic laws and ensure your bike is equipped for city riding.
