Public Bus
From the Arlington Heights Metra Station, take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line towards Chicago. Disembark at the Ogilvie Transportation Center. From there, transfer to the CTA 'L' at the Washington/Wells station. Take the Pink Line towards 18th and Kedzie and get off at the Polk station. Walk to the Polk station and transfer to the CTA bus #12 (Roosevelt) heading east. Get off at the Museum Campus/11th St. stop. The Field Museum will be directly in front of you.
Train and Walk
Start at the Arlington Heights Metra Station and board the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line towards Chicago. Disembark at the Ogilvie Transportation Center. From there, walk to the Union Station, located at 225 S Canal St. Take the CTA Pink Line towards 18th and Kedzie and get off at the Polk station. From Polk station, it's a 15-minute walk to the Field Museum. Head east on W 18th St, turn left onto S Prairie Ave, and continue straight until you reach the museum.
Taxi or Rideshare
You can book a taxi or use rideshare services like Uber or Lyft from anywhere in Arlington Heights. Simply enter 'Field Museum, 1400 S Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60605' as your destination. The driver will take you directly to the museum, which is located on Museum Campus along the lakefront.
Biking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to bike, rent a bike from a local bike rental shop. Start at the Arlington Heights Metra Station and bike towards the Des Plaines River Trail. Follow the trail south until you reach the Chicago River. Continue along the river until you reach the Museum Campus area. The Field Museum is located at 1400 S Lake Shore Dr, and there are bike racks available near the entrance.
