If you're in downtown Arlington Heights, head to the Arlington Heights Metra Station located at 45 W Northwest Hwy. Take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago. Stay on the train for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Ogilvie Transportation Center in downtown Chicago. Once you arrive, exit the station and head south toward W Washington Blvd. Walk east on W Washington Blvd until you reach N State St. Turn right (south) on N State St, and you will find Holy Name Cathedral at 735 N State St.

From the Arlington Heights downtown area, you can catch the Pace Bus Route 696 from the Arlington Heights Village Hall. Ride the bus towards the Rosemont Transit Center. After about 30 minutes, get off at the stop for the 'Schaumburg Rd & Roselle Rd' stop. Transfer to the Pace Bus Route 250 towards Chicago and ride it for about 45 minutes. Get off at the 'Washington & State' stop and walk two blocks south on N State St to reach Holy Name Cathedral located at 735 N State St.
