Public Transit
If you are starting from Arlington Heights, walk to the Arlington Heights Metra Station located at 45 W Northwest Hwy, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. From there, take the Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago O'Hare. After approximately 40 minutes, get off at the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago. Once you arrive, transfer to the CTA 'L' train at the Washington/Wells station. Take the Brown Line towards Kimball and get off at the Clark/Lake station. From there, switch to the Red Line towards 95th/Dan Ryan and get off at the Garfield station, which is about a 10-minute ride. Finally, walk east on 55th Street and turn left on Ellis Avenue. The University of Chicago will be on your right at 5801 S Ellis Ave.

From Arlington Heights, head to the nearest bus stop and take the Pace bus Route 696 towards the Des Plaines Metra Station. After about a 30-minute ride, get off at the Des Plaines Metra Station. From there, take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago O'Hare. Ride the train for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the Ogilvie Transportation Center. Then, follow the same instructions as above to transfer to the CTA 'L' train at the Washington/Wells station, take the Brown Line to Clark/Lake, switch to the Red Line towards 95th/Dan Ryan, and get off at the Garfield station. Walk east on 55th Street and turn left on Ellis Avenue to reach The University of Chicago.
