Getting There

  • Public Transportation

    From Berwyn, walk to the Berwyn Metra Station located at 3701 S. Grove Avenue. Board the train on the BNSF Railway line towards Chicago Union Station. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Union Station, exit the station and head to the nearby CTA 'Pink Line' at 500 W. Adams Street. Take the Pink Line train towards 54th/Cermak. After 4 stops, get off at the Damen station. From the Damen station, transfer to the CTA 'Blue Line' at Western station. Take the Blue Line towards O'Hare and after 6 stops, switch to the 'Red Line' at 18th station. Take the Red Line towards 95th/Dan Ryan and get off at the Harrison station. Finally, walk east for about 10 minutes towards Lake Shore Drive, and you will reach the Field Museum at 1400 S Lake Shore Dr.

  • Biking

    If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Berwyn. Head north on Ridgeland Avenue towards Cermak Road. Turn right onto Cermak Road and continue to the Cicero Avenue intersection. From Cicero Avenue, take the bike path east toward Chicago. Upon reaching the Chicago city limits, continue east on the designated bike lanes towards the Museum Campus area. After approximately 9 miles, you will arrive at the Field Museum located at 1400 S Lake Shore Dr. The bike ride will take about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your speed.

  • Walking

    While it is quite a distance to walk, it is possible. Start at any central location in Berwyn and make your way to the Metra Station at 3701 S. Grove Avenue. Once you reach the station, follow the earlier described route. Alternatively, if you feel adventurous, you can walk directly east on Cermak Road all the way to the Museum Campus in Chicago. This will take you around 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace, and you will be walking approximately 10 miles.
