If you are traveling by car from any location within Chain O'Lakes State Park, head south on IL-59 S from the park. Continue for approximately 20 miles until you reach the intersection with US-12. Merge onto US-12 S and follow it for about 10 miles. Take the exit for I-90 W toward Rockford and continue for approximately 15 miles. Take exit 45A for IL-47 S toward Woodstock. After about 5 miles, turn left onto IL-120 E. Continue for about 10 miles until you see signs for Spring Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area. Follow the signs to the entrance.
