Turn left onto Illinois Route 78 North. After approximately 15 miles, you will reach a junction with Illinois Route 97. Turn right onto Route 97 East. Continue for about 10 miles until you see the signs directing you to Dickson Mounds State Museum. The museum is located at 10956 N Dickson Mounds Rd, Lewistown, IL 61542. There is ample parking available at the site.
Public Transportation
Currently, there is limited public transportation available directly to Dickson Mounds State Museum. The nearest bus service can be accessed through the Peoria Public Transit System. You would need to take a bus from Peoria to Lewistown. Once you arrive in Lewistown, it's approximately a 15-minute taxi ride to the museum.
