Walking
If you are starting from downtown Champaign, head east on East Main Street toward South Walnut Street. Turn left onto South Walnut Street and continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach University Avenue. Turn right onto University Avenue and walk for approximately 1 mile. After reaching the intersection with West Gregory Drive, turn left. Continue walking for a few blocks until you see the entrance to the University of Illinois campus. The Rare Book and Manuscript Library is located in Room 346 of the building at 1408 W Gregory Dr, which will be on your right.

From downtown Champaign, you can take the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) bus. Board the number 5 or 7 bus at the nearest bus stop. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes and get off at the 'Gregory Drive & Wright Street' stop. From there, walk west on Gregory Drive for a few minutes until you reach the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at 1408 W Gregory Dr, Room 346.
