Getting There

Walking
If you're starting in Gold Coast, walk towards Lake Shore Drive. Depending on your exact location, head east on Oak Street until you reach Lake Shore Drive. Once you reach Lake Shore Drive, turn left (north) and walk towards the beach area. Continue walking along the lakefront until you reach the entrance to the Navy Pier area. This will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.

Public Transit - Bus
From the Gold Coast, you can take the #151 bus from the intersection of State Street and Division Street. Board the bus heading towards the 'Navy Pier' stop. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Once you get off at Navy Pier, follow the signs to the boat tours that go to the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse. Note that there may be a cost for the boat tour.

Public Transit - Train
You can also take the 'Red Line' train from the Clark/Division Station. Take the train southbound to the State/Lake Station, then transfer to the 'Brown Line' or 'Purple Line' towards the 'Merchandise Mart' for one stop. Get off at the 'Washington/Wells' station and walk towards the river. From there, head to the nearest boat tour operator to get to the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse. This option may take about 30-40 minutes total and will have a train fare.
