If you are driving, head to Elizabeth, IL. The Apple River Fort State Historic Site is located at 311 E Myrtle St, Elizabeth, IL 61028. From Galena, take US-20 E for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the intersection with IL-78. Turn left onto IL-78 N and continue for about 15 minutes. When you arrive in Elizabeth, turn right onto E Myrtle St, and the site will be on your left. Parking is available on-site.
