Car
If you are driving, head to the nearest major roadway in the Driftless Area. From the center of Platteville, take Co Rd G (which is also known as County Highway G). Follow Co Rd G for approximately 10 miles. The park entrance will be on your right. If using GPS, input the address: 18650 Co Rd G, Platteville, WI 53818.
Public Transportation
To reach Belmont Mound State Park by public transportation, you will first need to take a bus to Platteville. Once in Platteville, you can use local taxi services to reach the park as public transport does not directly serve the park. The taxi ride will be approximately 15 minutes. Make sure to check the local bus schedules as they may vary. For the taxi, expect to pay around $15-20.
Biking
If you enjoy biking, you can ride from Platteville to Belmont Mound State Park. The route along Co Rd G is bike-friendly, but be cautious of traffic. It's about a 10-mile ride, so ensure you have sufficient time and energy. Remember to wear a helmet and bring water.
Walking
Walking to Belmont Mound State Park is not practical due to the distance from nearby towns. If you are staying in Platteville, it's recommended to use a car or taxi instead. However, if you are adventurous and have the time, you can walk along Co Rd G, but prepare for a long trek of about 10 miles.
